Today on our Trendy Friday Fun livestream we are excited to show off this week’s PC Community Event map! This isn’t your normal defend-the-Ethernia-Crystal map. Instead of defending the crystal, you must find it. Sounds easy right? We thought so too. After all the time we spent playing every map and seeing every corner of the castle, where could you hide something like that? How about a giant maze the PC Events crew designed just for this event. A maze so impressive, it would make Dominic Cobb proud. We should warn you that get getting lost is not the only danger you will face in this map. It seems like the owner of this maze decided to borrow something from the King Minos mythology.

This week the Dungeon Defenders PC Community Events team brings us a new and exciting challenge, the aMAZEing Maze!

With the desire to bring new enjoyable experiences to the players, the team came up with an event that does not involve crystal defending, but instead finding one hidden crystal in a big maze. Of course the players won’t be alone in that maze, they’ll have to face its resident, minotaurs.

This event was also made with new players in mind. The past few event sagas were of increasing difficulty. While some players appreciate the challenge, other newcomers struggled to complete it. This event was built with that in mind. Players will be able to choose the level of difficulty they would like to face and the enemies will scale accordingly.

The aMAZEing MAZE event will be running from Saturday to Tuesday (5/18 – 5/21). To participate, simply sign-up at the following link.

We’re showing off the first Map Contest entry today on our Trendy Friday Fun livestream. Community mapmaker Nexus will run us through his contest entry, Brookrift Keep.

This three-crystal map opens up dynamically as the match goes on. On waves 5 through 8, you’ll have to defend the Lower Crystal. On waves 9 through 13, you’ll have to protect the Lower and Middle Crystals. On waves 13 through 17, you’ll need to protect the Lower, Middle and Top Crystals.

Nexus created custom textures, materials, sounds and meshes for the map. And just wait until you hear the music. It’s quite epic.

Join us on Trendy Friday Fun as we showcase this weekend’s Steam community event, The RNG Games! Participants of the event will win the Face of RNG, an exclusive accessory that can only be won in this event. The event takes place on a twisted version of The King’s Game created by community map author Mischief.

We can’t believe that April is almost over. Where did our days go? Maybe the question is not ‘where’ but how did the days pass by so quickly. Using only the finest of Elf magic (and asking one very scared Kobold) we found the source of our time dilemma. The Dark Elves managed to use their warriors to jump all the way up to the very top of the castle and install a Time Forwarding Device. Not knowing what to do, we headed over to our Kobold prisoner only to find that he had escaped and alerted the enemy. It is now up to us to hold off the waves of Elves and Ogres the will attack our Ramparts while the castle engineers figure out how to deactivate the Time Forwarding Device before it’s too late!

The PS3 event will take place on Tuesday and the 360 event will be on Thursday. Both events will run from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT. If you are interested in participating, you can go to the PS3 sign-up thread or the 360 sign-up thread. All you will have to do is comment on there with your name, Gamertag/PSN ID and what time of the day (in EDT please) you will be online. PS3 sign-ups close at 11:59 p.m. EDT today, and 360 sign-ups close at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Signing up does not guarantee entry. We’ll randomize entrants and post the final list on a Google doc that I’ll create once I close the thread. You can win 50 million XP and get to talk to us Trendy Folk. Hope to see you guys there!

It’s that time where our console fans get to team up with Trendy to play in a map with a unique modifier. Our fans can vote on which map and modifier you want to play on. You can take this survey in order to cast your vote. Hurry up and vote because we’ll be announcing the winning map and modifier on Monday, April 22.

The events will take place on Tuesday, April 23, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT for the PS3 fans and Thursday, April 25, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT for our 360 fans. You can use this handy time zone converter to help you out.

You can sign up for the events on our forums. Just sign up in your corresponding 360 event thread or PS3 event thread with your Gamertag/PSN ID and what time of the day you will be online (in EDT please!).

Just like our previous XP events, participants will receive 50 million XP! You’ll get to chat to us and ask us anything. You can sing or tell us your favorite joke. Signing up does not guarantee entry. We’ll post the final list on a Google doc that I’ll create the day before the event. Hope to see you guys there!

Look up at the sky. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Laura? Turns out the Grav-o-Tron that broke down last week managed to lift Laura up into Sky City before it got fixed. Things are not going well in Etheria and Sky City was not spared.

Sign up for the Returnia Shards events by Friday, 11:59 p.m. EST in this thread if you would like to participate. These events will be on Open, and you will have to subscribe to the map once it is made available on our Steam Workshop in order to play. The map will be available to download on Friday at 6 p.m. EST right after the stream is over.
