Welcome Dungeon Defenders! If you’re here it means you’ve purchased a version of the game from not-Steam, but would like to play our Steam-only ranked mode! Well lucky for you, you can! Just follow the following instructions:

Get the Steam version:
1. Find the Steam code which came with your purchase.
2. Donwload Steam from here: http://store.steampowered.com/about/
3. Install Steam and create an account.
4. Click on “+ ADD A GAME…” in the bottom left hand corner.
5. Click “Activate a Product on Steam…”
6. Enter the code you found in step 1. Once the game downloads, you should be able to run and play. If you pre-ordered you’ll also find your unique pet in your item box.

To transfer your data:
1. Goto the non-Steam version and copy this file: YourDunDefInstallDirectory\Binaries\Win32\DunDefHeroes.dun
2. Download the Steam version.
3. Paste that file into this location: YourSteamInstallLocation\userdata\YourSteamIDNumber\65800\remote\
(overwrite the dundefheroes.dun in there if you already have one there)

Notes:
1. YourSteamInstallLocation is usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam”
2. YourSteamIDNumber is a number representing your Steam account. It may not be entirely obvious what it is since Steam doesn’t directly tell you, but unless you have a lot of accounts it’s probably simple enough since there wouldn’t be a lot of folders there. It’s not “0″ either.
3. If you don’t have the “/65800/remote” directory within your Steam ID directory, create it.
4. This will only transfer your data to the unranked mode. Ranked characters are stored on the server and can not be created.
